We are a small, yet potent(!) nationally recognized design-oriented studio working primarily on creative office, retail and single family residential projects in the LA area. Our process is highly iterative and spatially focused, while still recognizing the reality of our clients' desires, usability and constructability. As the projects are not of massive scale, we find that this is all actually achievable!
The position will encompass the following (along with a few surprises, we're sure):
*30-35 hours/week, paid hourly, with massive flexibility to allow you to still have a life (read: side hustles, road trips, 3-day weekends, etc.)
*100% WFH, with occasional site visits and in-person meetings
*Those interested should be capable of (and interested in) acting as the point-person on multiple jobs and will be responsible for the majority of a project's production, with full support and collaboration with the studio's principal during all phases of work.
*You will be present at client meetings, site visits, correspondence with consultants, etc. We believe in full transparency within the studio and believe this will be beneficial experience for your own personal growth.
*Experience with construction documentation and the permitting process is required, along with knowledge of general construction (especially Type V - i.e. typical wall/floor assembly!)
*Fluency in Revit is a must, while skills in Rhino, Photoshop, and other design oriented tools is a plus. We produce process renders in Enscape, but you can literally learn how to do that in an hour.
*Please be a good communicator — absolutely crucial for WFH — and don't hesitate to share suggestions, critique, or ask questions, lots of questions.
*Please take pride in your own work and the work of the studio as we'll look to you to be an ambassador.
